The presence of stonework in our industry is very high.  Most projects include some form of natural stone landscaping. Whether it’s armour stone accents in the garden, flagstone sitting areas, granite pebble along the edges of the waterfall, cut ledgerock seat walls, pool coping, or pea gravel pathways, the applications are endless.  The word natural alludes to so many different connotations: from the earth, recognizable, physical etc.  These attributes spell out good reason to choose “natural” when designing, building or renovation your home, garden or outdoor room.

There are also arguments for using pre-cast or “man-made” products as well. Usually budget, but also aesthetics, dictate that decision.  Many applications for natural stone can also be substituted with concrete products, it all depends on what, why and how?  When considering which way to go, the “natural” choice would be something that LASTS, LOOKS GOOD and is LOW MAINTENANCE….these days anyway.  Take your pick, but don’t “build your house upon the sand”.

There are lots of details to pour over when looking at owning a commercial property: tenants, insurance, store front displays, utilities, publicity, exposure, location, location, location….to name a few.  The last 3 listed are not always that important for all businesses, depending on who you are marketing to, but stress how important some details are to the SUCCESS of the commercial enterprise.  IMAGE is huge when attracting potential customers, tenants or investment groups to our workplaces.

This is where, sometimes taken as a negative, MAINTENANCE comes into play.  Just like at our homes, there’s always work to do, to keep them looking good, functioning properly and appreciating in value.  For our clients its: lawn care, regular mowing, trimming, raking, gardening, irrigating, fertilizing, pruning, landscaping, snow clearing, salting,  beautifying, attracting, representing; ultimately,  PROTECTING,  as we stated earlier on.

DON”T neglect the maintenance at your commercial buildings, stores, multi-residentials or condominiums…It’s worth the effort.
