This Greensville backyard landscaping project started with a clean slate. With just a lawn and a hill separating two areas of the yard, this client's pool dreams involved some creative design.
An armour stone retaining wall would be needed to delineate and hold back the property from a level area for the pool, close to the house. Natural stone porches existed, calling out for more of the same feel in the walkways and water feature. The wall and waterfall would have to be constructed to blend in with the pool, making it appear as if it had been there for many years.
Patios and sitting areas were carved into the setting combining a use of both interlocking pavers and oversized flagstone slabs. Gardens caress the top of the wall and plant material flows from the top to the bottom of the wall, lit up in the evenings with landscape lighting.
Carpentry accents were designed for function, but also to tie in with the architectural elements of the home. Curved arches support the beam on the cabana and welcome you into the yard through the double gate at the driveway. Black iron fencing closes this "phase" of the backyard for safety and has multiple gate access to the space
The open backyard behind begs the curious onlooker, with the trees and vast lawn areas and an open fire pit. Whether it's entertaining, simple relaxation and family time, this Greensville Garden is inviting and finished for years of enjoyment, either during the sun lit days, or the dark nights.
